But not all Medicare solutions are equal.
A licensed insurance broker in Arizona, with partners throughout all 50 states, Micky Santa Maria is the broker of record at Santa Maria Insurance Agency. Through a process that includes 7 critical appointments, Micky walks each and every client through their Medicare options.
These include:
- Introduction (1 hour)
- Discovery meeting / education about Medicare and healthcare (1.5 hours)
- Plan options (2 hours)
- Plan presentation (1.5 hours)
- Plan enrollment (1.5 hour)
- Review meetings at days 10, 30, 60, and 90 (5 hours total)
- Plan review prior to reenrollment—annually (1 hour)
Traditional agents have one meeting (1.5 hours) each year to sign up clients on a plan that they have chosen for their clients. There is precious little conversation or education, if any.
Worried about COVID-19? Micky understands and has designed a protocol to protect his clients that exceeds guidelines set by Medicare and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
In addition to his in-person meetings, where Micky develops long-term relationships with each client, he is available via phone, email, and text throughout the year. You no longer have to reach out to a call center or 800 number where the person on the other end of the line has no idea who you are.

Santa Maria Insurance Agency is headed by Micky Santa Maria, who offers 13 years of experience specializing in Medicare. He has managed hundreds of licensed Medicare-certified sales agents throughout his career, and through them, disseminated and relayed hundreds of plan options to customers throughout all 50 states. Because of this, Micky has a greater depth of knowledge than even those agents who have 30 years of experience in the business.
Due to his depth of knowledge in advising clients and agents across the United States, identifying and resolving their apprehensions and challenges, Micky is able to provide options others cannot. He specifically contracts with healthcare companies to offer unique solutions for Arizona Medicare beneficiaries. Whereas most brokers only contract with 3–5 companies, Micky’s contracts number more than a dozen, providing 100+ plan options.
In addition to his passion for educating and serving Americans who are 65 and older as a senior adult rights advocate, Micky is a dedicated husband to his Phoenix police officer wife, a mountain biker and martial artist, and a native of Phoenix. As a mountain biker, he is part of the International Mountain Bike Patrol and won the 2013 Volunteer of the Year Award from Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton.
